Installation Guide

Everything you need to install your Designer Dance Floors products quickly, safely, and beautifully.

Vinyl Dance Floor Installation

1

Prepare the Surface

Ensure the floor is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or wax. Sweep and mop the surface at least 2 hours before installation. The floor must be completely dry before applying the vinyl.

2

Lay Out the Panels (Dry Fit)

Before peeling any backing, lay all panels out in order to confirm alignment and orientation. Our panels are numbered — always install from the centre of the room outward to ensure symmetry.

3

Peel and Apply — Panel by Panel

Peel the backing halfway, position the panel precisely, then press and smooth outward from the centre using a squeegee or flat-edged tool to eliminate air bubbles. Peel the remaining backing and press down.

4

Align Seams Carefully

Butt each panel edge directly against the previous one — do not overlap. Use the printed pattern as your guide. For graphic floors, align the graphic elements first, then press.

5

Seal the Edges (Optional but Recommended)

For events longer than 6 hours or in high-traffic areas, apply floor-edge tape along the perimeter to prevent lifting. Remove carefully after the event.

Pro Tip

Allow the floor to acclimatize for 30 minutes in the venue before installation, especially in temperature-controlled ballrooms. Cold vinyl is stiffer and harder to work with.

Welcome Signs & Seating Charts

1

Unpack Carefully

Remove your sign from its protective packaging. Large acrylic and foam board signs should be lifted from the sides — avoid touching the printed face with bare hands to prevent smudging.

2

Set Up the Easel or Frame

Most welcome signs and seating charts ship with an easel or frame. Extend the easel legs fully and ensure it sits on a level surface. Use the foam pads provided to protect hardwood floors.

3

Position Before the Guests Arrive

Place welcome signs at the venue entrance, 2–3 metres inside the doors so guests see it on entry but it doesn't block flow. Seating charts should be placed near the reception entrance at eye level.

Storage & Transport

Store signs flat or upright in their original packaging. Never stack heavy items on top of acrylic or foam board signs. Transport in a padded vehicle if possible.

Removal & Cleanup

1

Vinyl Dance Floor Removal

Peel panels from one corner at a low angle (30°) to avoid surface damage. If adhesive residue remains, use an adhesive remover or a gentle citrus-based cleaner. Do not use abrasive tools.

2

Fold and Roll Panels for Disposal

Our vinyl is recyclable — check with your local municipality for vinyl recycling drop-off. Fold panels printed-side in and roll loosely to avoid creasing for any reuse.
